WHAT KIND OF WEATHER CAN WE EXPECT IN MEDELLÍN IN JULY?
Medellín is known as the City of Eternal Spring. In July, temperatures typically range from 63 f to 80f, with mild days and cooler evenings. We recommend bringing a light jacket and being prepared for occasional rain.
WHICH AIRPORT SHOULD WE FLY INTO?
Medellín’s José María Córdova International Airport, also known as MDE.
In the Hotels & Transportation section, you’ll find approximate distances to our recommended hotels. To get from the airport, we recommend using Uber. If you take a taxi, please keep in mind that some taxis may only accept cash.
IS IT SAFE TO TRAVEL TO MEDELLÍN?
As we say in Colombia, “no des papaya.” In other words, we recommend being mindful of your surroundings and belongings, avoiding using your phone openly on the street, not walking alone late at night in unfamiliar areas, and using a ride-hailing app whenever possible.
WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER COLOMBIA?
Before traveling, please check Colombia’s entry requirements based on your nationality and country of origin. Some travelers may also be required to have a yellow fever vaccination, depending on their itinerary.
HOW DO I GET AROUND LLANOGRANDE AND MEDELLÍN?
Uber is a reliable option for getting around the city. We recommend using Uber Comfort or Uber Black.
WHERE CAN I RENT A TUXEDO?
If you need to rent a tuxedo for the wedding, we recommend doing so in Medellín before heading to Llanogrande. Some options include Formal Medellín, House Solórzano Tuxedos, Alquitrajes, and Trajes Zuly Díaz. We recommend booking in advance to ensure availability and allow enough time for any necessary alterations.
CAN I BRING A PLUS-ONE?
If your invitation includes a plus-one, it will be indicated on your invitation. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Sophie or Gabriel.
WHAT CURRENCY IS USED IN COLOMBIA?
The official currency is the Colombian peso (COP).
WILL THE DRIVE TO THE WEDDING CAUSE MOTION SICKNESS?
The drive from Medellín (not from Llanogrande) to the venue includes many winding roads. If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend bringing whatever you normally use to prevent it. We recommend Bonine, as it does not cause drowsiness.
